How to Take Care of Your Skin during Pregnancy

Pregnancy is an exciting thing for most mothers. It is at this time also that your skin experiences a lot of changes. Due to stretching of the skin, some mothers end up with

stretch marks, which leave them feeling ugly. Bringing a new being into the world should not leave you feeling ugly and insecure. There are some tips that you can follow to ensure that your skin looks as good as you were before you got pregnant.

To begin with, great looking skin boils down to what you put in to your body. It is true that during pregnancy you may develop cravings for not so healthy foods. If you are one who observes their skin closely you will begin to notice change immediately. Our

advice is to give in to your cravings just a little to keep the craving away. On most time of your pregnancy eat fruits and vegetables to give your body the vitamins needed to rejuvenate your skin.

Invest in a good bottle of cocoa butter. Cocoa butter has the ingredients that help keep your skin rejuvenated and the elasticity of your skin. Your skin will stretch a lot during

the nine months and to prevent it from tearing, the cocoa butter will come in handy. So buy one and apply it to the places that stretch daily.

Have a good rest. You will get tired quicker than usual and so you will need rest for both you and your baby. When asleep is when your cells will get the chance to rejuvenate and develop new skin cells. This is the time that old and dead cells are gotten rid off. So ensure you have a good night’s sleep if you want to keep your skin flawless during the pregnancy.

3 Steps GOODBYE

If someone doesn't want to be a part of your life, let them leave. Please. It's okay. You can't MAKE somebody love you. Or support you. Or understand you. If you want to BE A HERO and save somebody, use your superpowers to save yourself and be with a hero who can love you back! You are not an emotional maid. It's not your job to dust off someone's past. You are not an energizer bunny. It's not your job to give someone the energy to be in your life. You are not a surgeon, you can't MAKE someone's heart beat for YOU. The right person can't PARK in your life if the space is already taken by the wrong person. Step #1 Accept the GOOD in the BYE. Step #2. Say Bye. Step #3. Say Good

8 Secrets to Taking the Perfect Bath

You’ve probably taken baths before. You fill your tub with warm water, climb in, grab your soap or bath gel and wash yourself, and that’s it. Simple, right?

Well, not really - not if you want to get the most out of your bathing experience. Your bath shouldn’t just make you feel clean; your skin should glow, feel smooth to the touch, your body should feel refreshed and rejuvenated.  All the stress of the day should melt away by the time you step out of the tub, and you should have a glorious, uninterrupted sleep. The perfect bath requires some know-how and we’ve got some secrets to ensure your next bath will deliver unbelievable benefits to your body and your soul.

Bathing Secret #1:  Transform your home into a spa!
Imagine going to the spa once a week to take care of your skin, to cleanse and to nurture your body. For most of us, this is a distant dream - there’s no way you could afford a weekly spa visit. But you can afford to take a bath once a week, and bathing can deliver the same benefits as a trip to your favorite retreat - without breaking the bank. So book your next “spa day” with no one other than yourself, and go as often as you like. Buy some high-quality bath salts of your choice, make your very own mud mask, and soak to your heart’s content. You will see immediate results.

Bath Secret #2: Got a cold? The perfect bath will help!
Taking a bath is a powerful way to treat cold symptoms. If you have a runny nose, a bad cough or tired, aching muscles, taking a bath can make you feel better in no time. Sprinkle some bath salts infused with Peppermint essential oil for your sinuses and cough; mix in some Dead Sea salts, known to soothe aching muscles.

Bathing Secret #3: If you use the right ingredients, bathing makes you look younger.
It’s true - high-quality, natural bath salts can take years off your appearance by helping your body defend against climate and UV exposure, genetics, and other elements that speed up the aging process. Not only that, but natural salts can help your skin repair and restore it’s youthful smoothness and vitality on a cellular level, addressing existing signs of aging such as fine lines and an uneven skin tone. For the best results, add some of our Minera Dead Sea salts in your bath - plain or infused with your choice of essential oils and herbs.

Bathing Secret #3: Atmosphere is key.
Before you take your bath, make sure the lighting in your room is soft and low. Either dim the lights or place candles along the rim of your tub. Bring in a portable CD player and play your favorite, soothing music. Before you know it, your bathroom will be transformed into a quiet, tranquil oasis.

Bath Secret #4: When it comes to bath salts, the more, the better!
Don’t be shy! Be generous with the bath salts - the more, the better. Grab a handful or, even better, two - and hold them under the running water as you draw your bath, allowing the salts to release their fragrance and oils into the steam as they fall into the water. The idea here is to replicate an oceanic environment - after all, there’s nothing more therapeutic than soaking in the sea!

Bath Secret #5: Keep that curtain closed.
After you step into your bath, either partially or completely close the shower curtain or door.  This not only seals in heat (so water takes longer to cool), but it keeps in all that fabulous, fragrant steam. The steam will open and cleanse the pores in your skin, giving you a youthful, healthy glow.

Bath Secret #7: Start the day with a bath!
When most of us think of taking a bath, we think of taking it at the end of the day. To be sure, bathing in the evening has many benefits - washing away the stresses of the day, preparing for a good night’s sleep, etc. But taking a bath in the morning is a wonderful way to begin your day. Use some rejuvenating bath salts infused with a peppy citrus scent and you’ll feel energized, refreshed, and ready for the day ahead.

Bath Secret #8: Not so fast - keep soaking!
After 10 minutes of soaking, you may be tempted to hop out of your tub and go back to other activities. Instead, lie back and stay there for another 10 minutes. The bath salts will have time to work their magic on your skin while the warmth of the water improves your circulation and lowers your blood pressure. Not only will soaking longer help your body, but it will greatly benefit your mind. Believe it or not, it takes a while to get “used” to relaxing - those first few minutes are often spent thinking about appointments, projects, and deadlines. Once your mind is clear, close your eyes and relax!

How Sugar Badly Effects Your Skin and Body

There are many of us who have a major sweet tooth, and we should realize and understand what we are doing to our bodies and skin by eating so much junk food.

The repercussions are horrifying if you stop to look and see. The more sugary foods you eat, the more your body will store and you will gain weight if that is all you eat.

Instead of eating so much sugary food one should eat vegetables or healthy items instead to help the body’s weight stay down to a healthy level.

Sugar is one of the biggest causes for breakouts. Apparently, eating too much sugar and heavy desserts can cause acne problems, and you would find your skin being more susceptible to them.

Many friends of mine have quit sugar to discover that their skin had become much better. Instead of sugar, add more healthy fats to your diet to improve your skin. Sugary foods are also bad for your teeth as they can cause cavities and other problems. You should always remember to brush your teeth after to counteract the sugar before it gets going on them.

One of the major problems is if you eat so much sugar your body may start to rely on sugar and when you don’t have enough sugar in your system, it could cause your whole system to crash. This is bad because you should not let your body rely on sugar for energy alone.

As sugar is an energy that is burned fast and then you will crash after the energy is released. Another problem is that sugar will get you hyper and then you will be unable to sleep, sit, or work properly until it leaves your system. This can cause problems for a lot of people, especially in your sleep cycle.

Eating Your Way To A Healthy Hair

You may want to ask; What does your stomach have to do with your hair? Well, almost everything. The guy who said that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder should have included the stomach of the subject!

You are what you eat; it is as simple as that. There are types of food that will give your hair a major boost, unbelievably, and here is a list:

Generally, your hair needs three things: Proteins, vitamins and Minerals. Human hair, being made of amino acids, need protein for its growth.

Zinc and Iron are crucial for hair growth. Vitamins promote growth through enhanced blood circulation. Vitamins B-complex, E and C are all-essential

Water! Unless you do not consider water as food. Apart from being the universal solvent in your system that carries all nutrients to the required parts of the body, water is also a detoxifier and a moisturizer. Drink plenty of water for your hair to grow thick, shiny, and healthy.

Healthy hair growth needs lots of Iron, Zinc, and Vitamin B. Red meat, especially cooked beef, has plenty of this.

You must like fish. Your hair needs Essential Fatty Acids to grow healthy. Fish has lots of it. Fresh fish, dried fish, fried fish, any fish is good enough, but salmon is the best.

In case you are a vegetarian, then have plenty of almonds in your diet. Besides reducing cholesterol, almonds contain lots of nutrients needed for hair growth, like minerals and vitamins.

Fresh fruits, especially of the citrus family are highly critical. Oranges, tangerines, and lemons have lots of Vitamin C, which works together with iron to form collagen, a vital component of human hair.

Milk is another rich source of nutrients not just for the whole body but for the growing hair as well. Milk is a complete meal, containing minerals (especially Zinc & Iron), proteins, and vitamins. In this regard, cow’s milk is the best.

Your boy in general needs plenty of Vitamin B6 and Zinc. Chicken-peas can be a great source, apart from enriching your body with high quality plant proteins. Soybeans are also in this class. These two food types should particularly interest vegetarians and vegans.

Another source of Iron is the oats. The good thing is that eating oats gives your body Magnesium, Phosphorus and Potassium as well. You can add whole wheat to the mix to obtain Silica, which though not a required mineral in itself, but enhances absorption of the others.

9 Natural Masks for Reducing Large Pores

Large pores can be caused by a few different factors including genetics, heredity, disease and health condition of your body and skin. The diet you choose can also add to a problematic large pore problem. However, there are ways to help reduce the pores so that your skin looks healthier, younger and smoother. With large pores, your skin can absorb more oils and toxins which can also add to acne and other skin problems. Here are some tips for homemade masks for reducing large pores.

1. Create a mask by combing a teaspoon of oatmeal and a teaspoon of lemon. Add enough water to make a paste that you can smooth over your skin. Apply the mixture to your face and let sit for about 15 or 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and then pat dry. Do not rub your skin to dry it.

2. Make a paste using one egg and mix it with a teaspoon of powdered orange peel.. Gently massage the paste onto your face and let it sit for 15 minutes. Wash gently with cool water and pat dry.

3. Mix one teaspoon of ground almond with water until it makes a thick paste. Spread the paste on the skin and leave for 20 minutes. Gently rinse and pat dry.

4. A little table salt and buttermilk can make a great paste. Leave it on the face for about 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

5. Caution: do not use this if you have blemishes or other problems with the skin. Mix together milk, a little bit of lemon juice and oatmeal. Once it is the right consistency, spread it evenly on the face and let set for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water.

6. Pick up some gray clay (make sure it’s cosmetic clay) and make a mixture with it using 2 teaspoons of the clay and a teaspoon of rose water. Add a teaspoon of an astringent and massage into the skin. Let it sit and dry for about 20 minutes and then rinse with cool water.

7. Combine together a teaspoon of honey, a teaspoon of orange juice and a teaspoon of lanolin to make a paste. Apply the mask to your face and leave on for about 15 minutes or until it dries. Rinse gently with warm water.

9. For better overall health and look of your skin, try to avoid any products with harsh chemicals in it. Be careful using strong astringents as well. And if you have oily skin, make sure that you do not use a lot of lotions or makeup that includes a lot of oils. It is possible to still have great looking skin with large pores.

Homemade Face Masks for Oily Skin

If you have oily skin it can be hard to find a decent face mask that will not leave your skin too oily, but at the same time won’t take away too much of the oil.

If you have tried all of the ones that are on the market, and none work there are quite a few good combinations that can be made using the things you have at home.

For example, you can use honey, lemon juice and flour. Grated cucumber and lemon can be used, and also Aloe Vera gel mixed with tomato pulp.

Once you choose which of these packs you want to use, making sure you take into consideration the smells, mix the ingredients together until you get a slightly thick consistency but not too thick, and not too runny.

You have to make it the right consistency for it to set on your face and work properly. You can use normal flour, chickpea flour, or whole wheat flour if you have it available in your kitchen.

Once you put it on, lie down and do nothing for about 20-30 minutes, or until the mask naturally is absorbed, or hardens up. The Aloe Vera one, for example, is quickly absorbed, and you can layer a bit more on top.

There are quite a few pro’s to a do-it-yourself face mask. It will make your skin glow and give you a radiant look. It will hydrate your skin, and will make your skin soft without robbing it of the natural oils it needs.

You can also make this whenever you feel you need it and you don’t have to go off to the store once you are out of the product, like you would for a packaged one, as most of the ingredients are available at home. And the best part is that it’s really healthy for your skin! It’s also pocket friendly.

5 Surprising Ways to Get Rid of Morning Breath for Good

If you are tired of dealing with morning breath and you want to do something about it, here are some steps you can take to eliminate it.  One thing you should do is clean your mouth thoroughly before going to bed and this includes brushing your teeth and tongue, flossing and rinsing your mouth with a strong antiseptic mouthwash. When you do this you get rid of the germs that cause morning breath. Another idea is to drink some fluids at night such as water and herbal teas because this reduces the travel of germs through your mouth that lead to morning breath. If you enjoy chewing gum, look for gum that has the sugar substitute Xylitol because this ingredient destroys the bacteria that causes morning breath.

1. Go a Few Hours Without Garlic and Onions

If you had foods that contained a lot of garlic, spices and onions the night before, then this could be why you have morning breath. You want to stay away from foods that have these vegetables at least five hours before bedtime and if you still decide to eat garlic and onion late in the evening, you should brush your teeth and tongue and floss for at least fifteen minutes. Once you do this you should rinse your mouth and gargle at least three times with mouthwash.

2. Consider The Side Effects of Your Medications

Depending on the medicine you take, some medicines include bad breath and oral hygiene so if you feel this is the reason why you have constant morning breath, talk with the doctor who prescribed the medicines. Also bring the situation up to the dentist during the dental exam and he may offer other tips on curing bad breath.

3. Get An Overall Physical Check-up

Sometimes you may need to get a physical check-up if you tried all of the above mentioned tips to get rid of your morning breath but are not working. Some people develop chronic bad breath as the result of an undiagnosed illness so when you visit the doctor for the checkup, tell him about your struggles to get rid of the bad breath.

4. Cut Back on Coffee, Smoking and Alcohol

These three things are harmful to oral health and they also lead to bad morning breath. If you struggle to quit smoking, there are anti-smoking products at the drugstore that are effective in helping you kick the habit. As for coffee and alcoholic beverages, you can drink these in moderation but after you drink them you need to clean your mouth well before going to bed.

5. Conclusion

Morning breath is annoying to those around you and it is unpleasant for you but if you take steps to prevent it in the first place the night before, you will have fresher breath the next day. If you need to hurry somewhere in the morning and are not able to brush and floss, grab some strong mints and a travel-size bottle of mouthwash with you
